Dressage
Elegance and perfect harmony
Dressage at its finest!
Passionate about dressage? Then you don’t want to miss out on the action at the Nekkerhal on 28th and 29th December!
At Jumping Mechelen, you can witness some of the most impressive dressage horses and riders in action. In the Christmas Arena, they compete – in style – for victory in the FEI Dressage World Cup.
In addition to the competitions, there will also be various dressage demonstrations and clinics throughout the week.
Did you know that our youngest dressage riders kick off Jumping Mechelen? On the opening day (December 26), they’ll give their all during the final of the KBC Gouden Teugel style riding competition. Other amateur competitions in dressage are the finals of the Elite Cup and the Cavalor Cup.
Special Edition for Dressage Fans
Jumping Mechelen is celebrating a special anniversary edition this year, as it marks exactly 25 years since the first FEI Dressage World Cup was held during Vlaanderens Kerstjumping, Memorial Eric Wauters. Since then, Belgian dressage has made great strides.
Last year, Flore De Winne made a stunning debut at the Nekkerhal, becoming the first Belgian dressage rider ever to score over 80% in the Freestyle. After her success in Mechelen, she went on to become Belgian Champion and secured a sixth-place finish at the World Cup Final. The 2024 FEI Dressage World Cup Final was a historic moment for Belgium, as it was the first time that two Belgian riders, Flore De Winne and Larissa Pauluis, qualified for this prestigious final.
In addition, Domien Michiels made history by becoming the first Belgian ever to win an FEI Dressage World Cup event with a Belgian horse: Intermezzo van het Meerdaalhof. As the icing on the cake, the Belgian dressage team also secured an impressive fifth place at the Olympic Games.
Thanks to these incredible achievements, dressage is literally front and center on this year’s Jumping Mechelen poster, with Flore De Winne as the shining star.
