JM Feest in a new direction: Belgian Indoor Championship, horse swap competition and DJ Wout

Jumping Mechelen opens the week once again with a vibrant mix of sport, spectacle and atmosphere. With exciting competitions, a brand-new show class and a party to top it all off, 26 December is set to be a night to remember.

The opening night of Jumping Mechelen has become a favourite for party lovers. After three years of turning the Christmas Arena into a full-on music festival, the organisation is taking things in a new direction this year.

Julie: “We’re moving the party to the central square in the exhibitors’ village. Cover band La Folie Jolie will set the tone with an energetic show packed with today’s hits and medleys. Then it’s DJ Wout’s turn, known from Sylver and as a resident DJ at Tomorrowland. The celebration will go on well into the early hours.”

Anyone heading to Jumping Mechelen on 26 December for the evening programme will, of course, be treated to top-class equestrian sport before the party kicks off. The Belgian Indoor Championship is traditionally one of the highlights of Vlaanderens Kerstjumping.

Next up is a brand-new and spectacular horse swap challenge, where riders compete not only on their own horse but also on those of their rivals. Julie: “Horse swap classes are hugely popular with the crowd, but they’ve become rare. That’s exactly why we want to treat our visitors to this unique format. As for how it will work – and who will take part – we’re keeping that under wraps for now.”
