The roof comes off at the Nekkerhal: Bram Chardon wins thrilling driving final at Jumping Mechelen 2024
Bram Chardon looks back with satisfaction on his victory at Jumping Mechelen 2024. Despite competing with relatively new horses, he was confident he could win.
“At home, the horses already felt great. They are eager and driven, so I was convinced of their potential,” says Chardon. However, a small mistake briefly kept him on edge. “For a moment, I feared that one mistake might cost me the win, but luckily, my time was good enough.”

Winning in Mechelen meant a lot to Chardon, especially since he had never won with this team before. The many Dutch supporters, along with friends and family, made him feel right at home. “The Belgian fans are always incredibly enthusiastic here, even when a foreign rider wins. That makes it even more special.” According to Chardon, Jumping Mechelen is a top-class event with an incredible atmosphere and the perfect way to end 2024.
In the final standings, Koos de Ronde (Netherlands) secured second place, followed by Belgium’s Dries Degrieck in third. Belgian driver Glenn Geerts just missed out on the podium, finishing in a well-earned fourth place.
