Larissa Pauluis and Flambeau take the win in the FEI Dressage World Cup Grand Prix presented by De Baian

On day three of Jumping Mechelen 2025, there was an early sense of anticipation in the Nekkerhal. Dressage fans were treated to a morning of quality sport as the FEI Dressage World Cup presented by De Baian got underway at 8.00 am. Belgium made its mark straight away, with Larissa Pauluis claiming victory and several strong performances from home riders.

Pauluis keeps her cool
Larissa Pauluis entered the arena as the final Belgian combination, riding Flambeau (Ampère x Zeoliet | KWPN), her experienced and trusted partner. The long-standing partnership between horse and rider was clearly evident, and the duo looked stronger than ever. The judges rewarded that harmony with a score of 73.91%, securing the win.

Verboomen back on the podium
European Champion and world number one Justin Verboomen competed with Djembe de Hus (Damon Hill x Argentinus | OLD), a horse that has only relatively recently joined his stable. The pair showed that the hard work of recent months is paying off. A well-executed test earned them 73.07% in the Christmas Arena and the second place.

Tension until the end
International opposition came from Portugal’s João Pedro Moreira with the ten-year-old Drosa Fürst Kennedy (Fürstenlook x Don Kennedy | OLD). His elegant presentation was rewarded with 72.54%, securing third place. Just outside the podium finished Marieke van der Putten. Riding Zantana RS2 OLD N.O.P. (Zonik N.O.P. x Sir Donnerhall | OLD), she scored 72.13% for a well-earned fourth place.

Strong Belgian morning
With a solid sixth place for Wim Verwimp, who produced a fine test with Jedai de Massa (Don Juan de Hus x Galopin de la Font | PSH) after several years away from World Cup level, this Grand Prix became a true Belgian highlight.
