Petronella Andersson wins the CSI5* Grand Prix Sport Vlaanderen | 1.55m | €63,000

Impressive riding in the Grand Prix Sport Vlaanderen today! Our new head course designer, Bart Vonk, didn’t make it easy for the riders. Still, 19 combinations managed to advance to the jump-off. That means they would have to be really fast to win. That means they would have to be really fast to win.

The participants were clearly focused on the win. After an impressive clear round by Matthew Sampson, who was immediately surpassed by Thibeau Spits, Petronella Andersson and Cassina Z delivered a beautiful jump-off that couldn’t be beaten. She celebrated her victory afterward with her Stephex colleague, Kendra Claricia Brinkop, who finished sixth with
Nector vd Bisschop (Echo van T Spieveld x Darco) after two faultless rounds. Petronella: ” This competition is important for the entire Stephex team and our owner, Stephan Conter. We are all here as a team, so this feels like a collective victory.”

For her victory, Petronella gives extra credit to the 13-year-old Cassina Z (Casado v’T Gelutt Z x Lux). Petronella: “She is one of the horses I have had in my stable for the longest time. . I knew she was very fast , but she can become too fast if I push her too much. It almost went wrong on the last double, but she jumped in for me. Cassina is a Belgian horse, so I’m sure there were several people in the audience rooting for her. The atmosphere was fantastic.”
