The audience at Jumping Mechelen was treated to a breathtaking display of talent and dedication this year as Vitchi De Regor, a 2-year-old horse of remarkable lineage, clinched the crown in the free jumping final.
In a remarkable series of success stories, Vitchi De Regor joins his full brother Toyboy De Regor and full sister Tell Me De Regor, both of whom previously won the final. All three of these champions share an extraordinary bloodline, descending from the Cento mare Centa De Muze.
Stal De Regor, led by the Veldeman family, has established itself as a leading breeding and training center for talented showjumping horses. With a proven track record in producing champions, Stal De Regor remains committed to developing top-class horses for the international equestrian sport.
Johan Veldeman emphasizes the importance of personal involvement and dedication in horse breeding and training, stating: “You don’t breed for others, but for yourself.” He adds: “It’s essential to be closely involved in the well-being and development of the horse, and the true reward comes when the horse is ready to be trained under saddle.” He has strong faith in his horse Vitchi and anticipates a bright future with him. “Vitchi may be the best horse I’ve ever bred. He is very large for his age, which can often be a challenge in loose jumping. However, I managed to get him ready in time. We specifically train for loose jumping, regularly but never longer than half an hour at a stretch. Every horse that performed well in loose jumping has proven to excel under the saddle with us. So, it’s highly likely that Vitchi will follow suit. Centa, his mother, has already contributed significantly to our breeding program. Her offspring are all fantastic showjumpers. Vitchi’s sire is Chacco Blue. He has his advocates and critics, but I am completely convinced of his quality.”
