Going into the final, she did not expect to come out on top. <br\/>\u201cAfter having a rail down earlier in the competition, I honestly thought others would beat me,\u201d she admitted. \u201cWhen that didn\u2019t happen, it slowly started to sink in. That moment was very special.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Sophia is well aware of the history behind the FEI Jumping Ponies\u2019 Trophy, with former winners progressing to European Championships and even the Olympic Games. <br\/>\u201cThat\u2019s exactly what motivates me,\u201d she explained. \u201cI dream of competing at that level one day. While silver can sometimes feel like just missing out, she was above all pleased with her performance. <br\/>\u201cOver five rounds, anything can happen. I really didn\u2019t expect this result,\u201d she said. Riding the nine-year-old mare Lady Crown only since April, their partnership is still relatively new. <br\/>\u201cShe has so much willingness and always wants to do her best. That made the difference here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Third place was claimed by <strong>Victoire Chapalain <\/strong>with Fantho de l\u2019Etape. She looked back on her final with pride, especially after a challenging start in one of the rounds. <br\/>\u201cIt\u2019s not easy to come back after that,\u201d she said. \u201cBut my pony kept fighting for me. Finishing on the podium in a final like this means a lot.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">In front of a home crowd, Belgian rider <strong>Robin Vermeir <\/strong>fought her way to an impressive fourth place with Atomic du Bary. \u201cI honestly wouldn\u2019t have dared to dream of this beforehand,\u201d he admitted. \u201cMy pony really grew throughout the competition, and the Belgian crowd gave so much extra energy. That atmosphere is something I won\u2019t forget.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">What stood out during the press conference was the strong sense of camaraderie among the finalists. Rivals in the arena, but united by mutual respect and friendship, exactly in the spirit in which the FEI Jumping Ponies\u2019 Trophy was created. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">To conclude, <strong>Peter Bollen<\/strong> once again underlined the original vision of the series.<br\/>\u201cThis is precisely what we had in mind: giving young riders the chance to experience top-level sport at major venues, with everything that comes with it,\u201d he said. \u201cSeeing former participants move on to European Championships and even the Olympic Games
