Jumping Mechelen is an international horse event that takes place traditionally between Christmas and New Year’s. This year Jumping Mechelen celebrates its 40th birthday. With a day especially for our young ones, a night full of live music and no less than 3 World Cups, it’s going to be a major success.
The first day of Jumping Mechelen is dedicated to the youth. With spectacular shows and animation for young and old, a visit from Santa Claus and the well known Mini Steeple, there’s entertainment for the whole family. The highlight of the day is definitely the performance of #LikeMe and the chance to meet them during one of the two meet and greets. Besides #LikeMe there will also be performing a lot of others: Lorenzo the flying Frenchman, 2 Step Dance Company and the spectacular Trick Riding Team. Ofcourse you can also watch the different dressage and jumping competitions.
On Monday evening the 26th, Jumping Mechelen is celebrating. The Christmas Arena is transformed into a big dance floor where you can dance all night. Willy Sommers, Sam Gooris, Gunther Neefs, Gene Thomas, Belle Perez and Bart KaĆ«ll bring the best Belgian music. De Drie Tenoren will sing Het Jumping Mechelen Lied live and Party DJ Wim will end the night with a bang. Ofcourse there’s also some sport involvled. The Belgium Indoor Championship over a height of 1m45 is also on the agenda.
For many visitors, the highlight of Jumping Mechelen is the Longines FEI World Cup jumping on Friday 30 December. Each year the Nekkerhal is filled to the roof for this exciting jumping competition. Dressage fans can enjoy the FEI Dressage World Cup on Thursday 29 December. We’ll close the week with the FEI World Cup Driving on Friday evening. Joy guaranteed during these three international shows. Did you know that at Jumping Mechelen the best international jumping ponies also strive for their own “worldcup”, the FEI Jumping Ponies’ Trophy?
Jumping Mechelen unites horselovers from all over Belgium. Both amateurs and professionals get their chance. Local jumping riders could qualify for the finals of the JM Indoor Masters that are held throughout the week. For the dressage riders there are also many national and international competitions for both ponies and horses. For those who love to see the international riders, there’s a large choice in international jumping and dressage competitions. For the young horses there’s the Free Jumping final followed by the auction for 2 year old jumping horses. There’s something to watch for everyone!
