The concept has been around for years. Our wonderful Belgian breeders are traveling around the country with their 2-year-old talents competing in preliminary rounds to gain a place for the final of the loose jumping competition at Jumping Mechelen. Following the final, Auction Mechelen will then start, where young talent will be auctioned to a national and international audience.
A great day for breeders and buyers alike. Unfortunately, the past two events could not take place in The Nekkerhal and the auction took place online, but we are delighted to welcome them both back this year.
The digital auctions turned out to be a success, which is why Auction Mechelen will continue partly online. But how we missed the admiring “oohs” and “ahhhs” from our audience when the young talents flew the fences, and how much of a shame it was to not discover together with excitement which horses made it to the top of the auction.
So come down to the Nekkerhal on 29 December (morning | New Year Arena) to enjoy the loose jumping competition and Auction Mechelen in the company of other passionate breeding and sport enthusiasts. There we promise to present another fantastic lot of horses, and maybe you could take home the perfect Christmas gift this year…

Interested in taking part in the loose jumping competition? Then join our preliminaries with your 2-year-old winner! You can find the calendar here. Our first qualifier is already on the agenda on 2 October. You have no fewer than 11 chances to advance to the semi-finals at Azelhof (4 December 2022 | Lier). The best 20% of each preliminary round will be automatically selected to take part in the semi’s.
