Dear Jumping Mechelen friends,

February 2020 and the first rumours about the Covid pandemic blew in via the media, then in March 2020 there was the first lockdown.

Who would have thought then that we would not be able to organise Jumping Mechelen in December? It would surely all be no big deal and would be solved by the end of the year. Nothing was further from the truth, and we were forced to postpone our 40th anniversary.

In good spirits, we started working on the 2021 show, where we would organise a smashing birthday party between Christmas and New Year in our familiar Nekkerhal. With vaccinations up and running, we thought everything would be fine, no one was thinking about us having to cancel again.

We were ready…. but Covid decided otherwise for the second time.

But for sure that did not mean we would cancel our party completely.

We have always been determined to organise our 40th edition featuring the well-known top sport in jumping, dressage and driving, interspersed with the additional wonderful shows and entertainment, with our much-promised birthday party.

Two years of not organising does not mean we have been sitting still for two years. We’ve had two years to review, evaluate and adjust various things, and one of our projects is this new website. In this we try to revitalise our messaging, share our experience and so much more. Keeping you up to date with the latest Jumping Mechelen news is a priority for us. I am therefore pleased to be able to introduce our new website to you.

Take a look and discover, amongst other things, the entire programme for our 40th anniversary show between 26th and 30th December 2022.

I look forward to seeing you all in The Nekkerhal between 26th & 30th December.

Gunter Van Lent
President of Jumping Mechelen.
